After working 9 years, 1992-2001, in the field of education and junior youth empowerment in the post-communist environment of the Czech Republic, Greg Edwards arrived in Los Cabos. Here, he and his wife Gayle, founded Mobilize Mankind (MobiMex) in 2003, a nonprofit project whose mission was and still is to give mobility to children who are paralyzed from such illnesses as cerebral palsy, spinabifida, muscular dystrophy and spinal trauma. From Fall of 2012 until Spring of 2015, Greg was the Executive Director of the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation and involved in continuing the development of the LCCF surgical program to repair congenital heart defects in BCS children. This work resulted in the first open heart surgery performed in BCS in June of 2013 through expanding the already existing collaboration with the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska and orchestrating a program that brought the doctors and surgeries to La Paz rather than sending the children to Omaha. In January of 2016, Greg returned to his interest and passion in youth education and empowerment and joined Gente Joven Por Un Cambio as its Executive Director.
